David Copperfield is thought by many to be the greatest magician that has ever lived.  To date he has sold over 40 million tickets and grossed over $3 billion, which is more than any other solo entertainer in history – including both Elvis and Michael Jackson.  He holds 11 Guiness World Records, 21 Grammy awards, he has been knighted by the French Government, he holds a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has been named a “Living Legend” by the US Library of Congress.

In 1974 a young Frenchman, Phillipe Petit, froze the streets of New York City as he successfully crossed a 3/4-inch cable that stretched between the World Trade Centre Towers – a quarter of a mile above his captivated audience of thousands on the streets below.  Petit crossed the wire eight times, lay down on the wire, jumped up and down (with his feet leaving the wire entirely) and spent 45 minutes taunting police before finally acceding their requests that he stop.

Upon being arrested, NYPD agents handcuffed him behind his back and roughly pushed him down a flight of stairs, a moment he later described as “the most dangerous part of the stunt”.

An unique man, an incredible stunt (six years in the planning) and a very beautiful movie.

The tragic story of Genie Wiley, a small girl who lived the first 13 years of her life in total isolation unable to walk, speak or communicate with others.  A heart-breaking story of abuse and deprivation, and fascinating insight into the human mind and human development – she learned only basic wording after years of development.  Still alive today aged 54, Genie’s location is now classified – although she is thought to be still in psychological confinement, and once again speechless.
